On the evening of October 18, 2007, Paul-Gérard Pinard, aged 66, was shot dead inside his home on 2nd Street in Saint-Louis-de-Blandford. Witnesses saw a vehicle driving to the victim’s home and then heard gunshots. The victim was found dead by a neighbor in his residence the next morning around 10 a.m.

His body, according to the police, bore signs of violence: he was allegedly hit with a blunt object. A weapon was found near the body.

Paul-Gérard lived alone and was a retired Valleyfield bailiff. He was a second-hand dealer and he sometimes transported money.

The Sûreté du Québec still has no suspect in this murder and the motive for the crime as well as the exact circumstances are still unknown.
