| Montréal | Hélène Plante Murdered on October 23, 1994

Read Time:1 Minute, 2 Second

Hélène Plante, 21, was found lifeless in an abandoned factory on rue Moreau in Montréal on October 24, 1994. She had been dead for less than 24 hours when her half-naked body was found around 1 p.m. by a plumbing contractor in charge of renovating this old factory that had been abandoned for four years. Hélène was lying among all kinds of rubbish in the bottom of a meter-deep concrete hole which had previously housed the old building’s heating system. In addition to being severely beaten, she had been stabbed several times in the head and body.

The young woman lived in an apartment located two streets from the old building frequented by prostitutes from this underprivileged area in eastern Montreal. Hélène had no criminal record related to prostitution.

As a unique sign, the young woman had above her right breast a small tattoo of a heart crowned with the word “Calimero”.
