On the morning of May 29, 1995, Victorien Vallée and his wife, Claudette Servant, went missing from the small municipality of Tourelle in Gaspésie where they lived. The frame of the back door of their house was forced open and traces of blood as well as Mr. Vallée’s broken glasses attested to a certain violence. His wallet and its contents were still there, but the couple’s car was no longer in the garage, of which the big door was open.

The same day around noon, their car was found in Havre de Tourelle. There was blood in the trunk but still no sign of the couple. Their bodies lying in the Vallée stream, located in Cap-au-Renard about 19 km from their residence, were found by young fishermen on June 30, 1995. Their bodies would have been thrown from a bridge that spans the stream. The autopsy report revealed that the couple died from gunshots to the head.

One of the couple’s daughters believes that several people are involved in the double murder.
