| Terrebonne | Julie Surprenant Missing since November 15, 1999

Read Time:1 Minute, 21 Second

Julie Surprenant lived on rue de la Castille in Terrebonne, with her father. On the evening of November 15, 1999, Julie, calm and disciplined, spent the evening at the youth center located on rue Hauteville, which she did regularly. It is the next morning when getting up that her father noticed that Julie was not there.

The investigation determined that Julie left the youth center at 8:30 p.m. with a friend who left her at the Galeries Terrebonne stop. Julie was seated at the front of the bus, allowing her to chat with the driver, who was the last person to see her. He remembers seeing the teenager getting off at the bus shelter near her place at 8:56 p.m. He reportedly saw a man at the bus stop.

Despite a confession of kidnapping and murder made by a man with a long criminal record, who lived in the apartment above the Surprenant, the case remains unresolved. This man died in 2006.

Julie, a 16-year-old girl with curly brown hair and large hazel eyes, was pronounced dead in 2011.

Any information related to this disappearance can be reported anonymously to the Sûreté du Québec’s info-crime line at 1-800-659-4264.
