| Havre-Saint-Pierre | John Casey Missing since September 14 2016

Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

John Casey, a resident of Milford, Connecticut, has been missing since September 14 around noon. He was on a cruise with members of his family aboard the CTMA Vacancier ship which connects Montreal to the Magdalen Islands and made a stopover in Havre-Saint-Pierre. The CTMA spokeswoman at the time said that relatives of John reported him missing to the ship’s crew on Thursday morning.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, information has been received indicating that the 75-year-old man did not get off the ship during the stopover: he could therefore have fallen or intentionally jumped from the boat, or rather got off in Montreal. Ground and aerial searches were carried out and the police went door to door asking the citizens of Havre-Saint-Pierre to take a look in their garage and on their property.

John Casey speaks English and is of Irish descent. He wears glasses and has pale eyes, white and gray hair and is 1.80m (5ft 10in) tall. At the time of his disappearance, he weighed 68kg (150lbs) and was wearing a black coat and purple shirt. Mr. Casey can be confused on occasion and those close to him have reason to fear for his health and safety.

Any information related to this disappearance can be reported anonymously to the Sûreté du Québec info-crime line at 1-800-659-4264.
