| Saint-Hubert | Étienne Séguin Murdered May 7, 1989

Read Time:1 Minute, 8 Second

Late in the evening of May 7, 1989, Étienne Séguin was murdered in his home, at 7605 De la Savane Road, in Saint-Hubert. Mr. Séguin specialized in the resale of objects of all kinds that he was getting at auctions in the region. He was reselling these items from his home, a former dairy farm that had a few barns where he stored things. It was known that Mr. Séguin had large sums of cash with him and at his home at all times.

His wife, Régine St-Pierre, was also found murdered. They were both in their sixties.

The couple was discovered by their son early in the morning of May 8, 1989. Their bodies were laying in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor. They had been killed by shots from a 32 caliber revolver to the head and chest. The house was topsy-turvy and every room had been searched, which suggests that the motive was theft. At least 800 people have been questioned in connection with the killings, but no arrests have been made.
