On October 12th, 1988, around 6h40, Henri Paquin, a businessman from St-Laurent area in Montreal, Quebec, was killed by an explosion in his car, a Mercedes, on Thimens boulevard in St-Laurent.
In 1987, Paquin, treasurer for the St-Laurent Mayor, Marcel Laurin, had purchased a lot (4, 6 hectares) for the New St-Laurent Project.
Paquin purchased this building from the Royal Canadian Bank (RBC), which was built in 1907 at 360 Saint-Jacques Street. He had removed the building but kept the main facade. He built a concrete structure being the facade that he was hoping to convert into a Hotel. This project was never completed by his estate.
The Project was reinitiated by the Longpré Group in Laval but was again abandoned.
