Johanne Dorion, 17, was part of a family of seven children and lived on 9th Avenue in Fabreville. She worked as a medical secretary at the Sacré-Coeur hospital in Cartierville.
Johanne was last seen on July 30th around 00:30. She left work around 11:45 p.m. on July 29th and then took the bus number 4 to return home. According to the driver, she got off around 12:30 a.m. at the corner of rue Arthur Sauvé and boulevard St-Rose, in Fabreville.
Johanne was reported missing the next day by her parents and more than ten days later (eleven, or thirteen, depending on the sources), her body was found by a teenager halfway between the bus stop and her house, in a wooded area near the Rivière des Mille-Îles. The young girl had been stabbed five times in the abdomen and a sleeve of her blouse had been completely torn. The family never received confirmation that Johanne had been sexually assaulted, since there was too much deterioration in her pelvic area. A Dominion grocery bag and Johanne’s wallet were found next to the body, but the money contained in the wallet was missing.
