Francine Da Sylva was stabbed, raped, and murdered on the night of Friday, October 18, 1985, after spending the evening and part of the night with her friend Johanne in the Plateau neighborhood of Montreal. Upon arrival in front of her friend’s residence on Duluth street, Francine decided to walk alone to her home located on Saint-André street. Her body was found later that morning in an alley at the corner of Sherbrooke and Saint-André streets.
