On May 22, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Laurie Desbiens, 29 years old, was last seen near the Caribou forest road, located about 60 kilometers north of Dolbeau-Mistassini, in a remote area surrounded by dense forest and numerous hard-to-access secondary roads.

At the time of her disappearance, the young woman was reportedly with a friend during a fishing trip in the region. According to the available information, Laurie allegedly left the area on foot for reasons that remain unknown. Since that moment, she has not been seen again.

The hours that followed quickly gave way to growing concern. The lack of communication, combined with the isolation of the area and the challenges involved in searching such a vast wilderness environment, plunged her loved ones into anguish. Despite the efforts undertaken and the various checks conducted, no trace of Laurie has been found. No personal belongings, phone calls, bank activity, or any other sign that could help explain what may have happened to her has been reported.

Her disappearance remains surrounded by many unanswered questions. Why did Laurie leave the site alone on foot in such a remote location? Was she trying to reach a road or another area? Did she encounter foul play or suffer an accident in the forest? At this time, the exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unknown.

To this day, her family and loved ones continue to hope for answers. Every day without news deepens the concern and mystery surrounding this troubling disappearance. Any information that could help locate Laurie Desbiens or advance the investigation could prove essential.
