Maisy Marie Odjick, 16, is from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Nation in Quebec. She disappeared along with her best friend, Shannon Alexander, on September 6, 2008. They were both supposed to be going to a dance on the 5th and planned on spending the night and weekend at Shannon’s house in Maniwaki because her dad was going to help his son paint in Ottawa. It has been confirmed that they went to the Maniwaki arena for the dance that night. Other friends who were at the dance saw the girls leave the arena. The next day, Shannon walked her father to the bus station, while Maisy slept in. This would be the last time he would see his daughter. When Shannon’s father returned to his apartment, he reportedly found that the girls had left behind their purses, wallets, identifications, and backpacks. Shannon had even left her medication behind. Maisy sent a friend a message on Facebook that morning, but since then, there have been no signs of the young women.
The disappearances were first treated as runaways, but their families do not necessarily believe in this theory. Neither girl was in trouble with the law nor did they lead high-risk lifestyles. At the time of her disappearance, Maisy stood between 5’10” and 6″ tall and weighed approximately 120 to 126 pounds. She had short brown-to-black hair and brown eyes. She had numerous piercings: one on her left eyebrow, two on her lower lip and two on her nipples. She has a scar above her right eyebrow.
In 2015, the SQ released an aged-enhanced sketch of what Maisy could look like older.
