On the night of February 11 to 12, 2006, between 11:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., 43-year-old Guylaine Bélanger was killed in her apartment 4-7345, 1ère Avenue in Charlesbourg near Quebec City. She was allegedly stabbed repeatedly with a knife. A neighbor reportedly found him around 2:30 a.m., after noticing that his door was partially open. As a sex worker, Guylaine regularly received clients at her home. A complaint of excessive noise in Ms. Belanger’s apartment was lodged that same evening, at around 11:30 pm The police knocked on her apartment door at around 12:30 pm and having received no response, they left. A man in his forties, searching for Ms. Belanger’s apartment, was reportedly seen by a neighbor shortly before 11:30 p.m. on February 11. He drove a black Monte Carlo type car from the years 1979-80.
The family remains hopeful that one day languages will go wild.
