On the evening of July 5, 1995, Alain Gastonguay was stabbed in the abdomen at his residence in Longueuil by a person who knocked on his door. The person would have left immediately after the fact and Alain’s wife found him on the kitchen floor. Alain died about an hour later in the hospital. At the time of his murder, he was 37 years old and was an architectural technician for the group Quatrium Inc. His murder allegedly happened while he was about to expose a fraud committed by his employer. While heading to the Télé-Métropole studios to reveal this information, Alain would have been accosted by an unknown man telling him to keep quiet in this case and Alain would have turned back afterwards. He had confided to his neighbor that he feared for his safety.
Despite a prisoner’s confession to having committed the murder, Alain’s murderer has never been formally identified and arrested and his family is still seeking answers.
