Jenique Dalcourt, 23, was brutally beaten to death with an iron bar at around 9:45 p.m. on her way home from work. The murder happened on a poorly lit bike path near Chemin Chambly in Vieux-Longueuil.
It is also suspected that the murderer would have fled within minutes of the assault, possibly to dispose of the murder weapon, only to return to the scene and call 911 himself.
The Jenique Dalcourt case had several twists and turns that suggested that the police would be able to lay charges quickly. However, the main suspect was quickly released and the case is still unresolved.
