On August 23, 2011, on the first day of school, Valérie Leblanc was found mutilated, burnt, partially naked and abandoned in a wooded area behind the Cégep de l’Outaouais. Her murder was accompanied by contempt of her body, since shortly before 1 p.m., four young people allegedly handled the corpse, initially believing it to be a dummy. She died by blunt force trauma. Valérie was attending the Cégep and was 18 years old at the time of her murder. A $10,000 reward is offered until August 23, 2022 by Jeunesse au Soleil to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this murder.

The police is still looking for an important witness who was allegedly seen on campus on the day of the crime. He was then 20-35 years old, about 6-ft. tall, and weighed approximately 200 lbs. He had dark hair and no facial hair that day, and was seen walking beside a black mountain or hybrid bike. He also spoke French without an accent.
